FAQ
Got questions about your Loch Ness boat trip?
What types of cruise do you offer?
We offer both our standard hourly tour and a private charter option. Our hourly cruises last for one hour, with approximately 45 minutes on the water and a short minibus journey to and from the harbour. You’ll share the boat with other passengers but don’t worry, we only carry 12 passengers so you’ll have plenty of time to ask the captain any questions you may have.
How much does it cost?
Our hourly tour prices can be found by clicking HERE. For private charters, please contact us so we can help you build your ultimate Loch Ness cruise.
How do I get to the boat?
Our boat departs from a small private harbour that is not open to the public. All guests are required to check in at our booking office in Celtic Crafts Gift Shop and directions can be found HERE. You’ll then be directed to our private minibus for a short transfer to the harbour.
What should I wear?
It may come as a surprise but the sun doesn’t always shine in the Highlands! We’d recommend taking warm clothing and even if the sun is shining, a waterproof is always a good idea as our weather changes very quickly.
What happens if its raining?
The show will go on! Being in Scotland, we’re adapt at coping with a bit of rain and with our large, heated cabin with seating for all guests, we can still cruise Loch Ness in comfort. If the rain obscures all visibility however, we will cancel and offer either an alternative date or a full refund. We’ll always put passenger safety first and may also need to cancel if the wind creates large waves.
Are dogs allowed on the Nessie hunter?
Of course! Dog’s sail for free with us on Loch Ness, we’re a dog loving family business and we know how important it is that your 4 legged family member can enjoy the trip. Simply let us know when you make a booking. For all other pets, get in touch and we can make sure they’ll enjoy their trip!
Are there toilets aboard?
The Nessie Hunter has no facilities aboard. Toilets are available at our collection point at Nessieland, simply show your ticket either before or after your trip for free access to the facilities.
I didn't receive my booking confirmation?
Please check you spam email folder and add our email address to your safe email list as we may need to contact you regarding your cruise. In the rare event you still haven’t got a booking email, contact us using the details at the bottom of the page.
Can I get refreshments on the Nessie hunter?
During our hourly cruise, there are no refreshments available to purchase on the Nessie Hunter. We strongly encourage you to take your own refillable water bottle, with a free fill up point at the Loch Ness Hub, only a 2 minute walk away.
If you’ve booked a private charter, tea, coffee and home baking are available and we also offer many different food and drink packages. Get in touch to see what’s available during your private cruise.
Will I see Nessie?
Whilst the Loch Ness Monster is a legendary creature, sightings are rare. Our cruises focus on the breathtaking scenery, the history of the Loch and surrounding area.
Accessibility
Unfortunately, the Nessie Hunter is not wheelchair accessible and not great for people with limited mobility due to a step on and off the boat. We are happy to try and accommodate any needs you may have, if you’re unsure then get in touch with us and we can discuss how to make your cruise enjoyable and suitable.
What if I don't speak English?
Whilst our cruise is offered in English only, we offer both printed and digital translation sheets available in over 20 languages.
